Should Animals and Humans be in the Same Grouping or Classification

The question has been pondered for thousands of years; What makes man unique? That is to say what makes them different than other animals and should animals and Humans be in the same Grouping or Classification? Indeed a Think Tank quality question to discuss and so it was recently in an online think tank with a young researcher from what is to be called the Why Are Humans Unique Project perhaps or a very similar name along those lines.

As the think tank begin to address the concept and the types of experiments we should set forth to find the answers we seek two sets of questions were considered;

(1) Are Humans Unique to all other life?

(2) Should Animals and Humans be in the same Grouping or Classification?

One think tanker stated that he believed that it seems both questions are synonymous anyway? In that if you answer the question:

Are Humans Unique to all other life? If so, then they could not be considered in the classification of animals. If yes they might be grouped as animals.

Should Animals and Humans be in the same Grouping or Classification? If so then they could not be considered unique to all other Earthly life forms. If no, then there is a good chance they would be in a Unique Category all their own.

So, you only have to answer one of these and you automatically have potentially have the correct answer to the other he stated. Indeed this makes sense and in the end the Why Are Humans Unique Project could possible answer the question once and for all. Consider this in 2006.

The Real Truth

There is much pain inside, I really am not past it. There is still more to come much, more, to come. In fact there is so much more to come it is infuriating. I thought I was done with it all, I thought just maybe, just maybe I could really be past it. I thought maybe this time it would be different. This time it was true but, no its not. Its not true at all. You see I have found merely found a way to portray happiness which is fake and normally lasts for a very short time.

All I have really done is created a block. A way to avoid it but if you think about it everyone does everyone, creates there own little block. Its like there own spy ware system, they use what they call strategies, or calming techniques, or something along those lines. I mean yes, sure it gets there mind away from it but all it is really doing is avoiding it. They are putting it off so they don't have to deal with it. So as of now I have come up with another Philosophy and, that is that ev eryone in this whole, entire, world is unhappy no matter what. But some have been able to avoid it but you see the truth is its still there. They are still unhappy they just don't realize it in till, it gets to the point were its uncontrollable. I mean sometimes it never happens but, many times it does. Once in a while there is a case were the person is able to continue the way they normally would do it but, the truth once again, is that it is still there. Whether on a conches or unconscious level.

With this realization I have stumbled upon, I have had many of my own questions answered. The pieces of the puzzle have began to fit together. I have found some of what I lost in translation. Yet this gives me no comfort. In fact it gives me more discomfort in some ways. So now I shall go on knowing the truth and not knowing what to do about it. Maybe one day I will figure something out but for now the truth has caused much chaos in my mind!

I am big on Phil osophy and I am a big fan of Nietzsches work. I also fins that Marilyn Manson (Brian Werner) has some very good Philosophys (although controversal and he is not thecnically a philosopher but of course neither am I) I also enjoy many other philosophers and I am considering a carrer with something to do with Philosophy

Einstein and Eirugena

ALBERT EINSTEIN: - I am satisfied with the Mysteries of life.

A human being is part of a whole, called by us the Universe, a part limited in time and space. He experiences himself, his thoughts and feelings, as something separated from the rest--a kind of optical delusion of his consciousness. This delusion is a kind of prison for us, restricting us to our personal desires and to affection for a few persons nearest us. Our task must be to free ourselves from this prison by widening our circles of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature in its beauty.

The human mind is not capable of grasping the Universe. We are like a little child entering a huge library. The walls are covered to the ceilings with books in many different tongues. The child knows that someone must have written these books. It does not know who or how. It does not understand the languages in which they are written. But the child notes a definite plan in the arrangement of the books---a mysterious order which it does not comprehend, but only dimly suspects.

The important thing is not to stop questioning. Curiosity has its own reason for existing. One cannot help but be in awe when he contemplates the mysteries of eternity, of life, of the marvelous structure of reality. It is enough if one tries merely to comprehend a little of this mystery every day. Never lose a holy curiosity.

What I see in Nature is a magnificent structure that we can comprehend only very imperfectly, and that must fill a thinking person with a feeling of humility. This is a genuinely religious feeling that has nothing to do with mysticism

The finest emotion of which we are capable is the mystic emotion. Herein lies the germ of all art and all true science. Anyone to whom this feeling is alien, who is no longer capable of wonderment and lives in a state of fear is a dead man. To know that what is impenetrable for us really exists and manifests itself as the highest wisdom and the most radiant beauty, whose gross forms alone are intelligible to our poor faculties -- this knowledge, this feeling ... that is the core of the true religious sentiment. In this sense, and in this sense alone, I rank myself among profoundly religious men.

Einstein saw there were people who sought to say he was religious in sense of being what they personally thought was God and he had to set them straight. Unfortunately many people have their memories tarnished by people succeeding in this propaganda that co-opts good people. He was a great man and fought most of his life for an end to standing armies. Despite the advances since his death he still makes sense in many areas of thinking including that for which he became most famous. I think this last simple quote by him says a lot.

Two things inspire me to awe -- the starry heavens above and the moral universe within.

Einstein died in 1955. He is best known for the theory of rel ativity, which states that time, mass and length all change according to velocity. Space and time are a unified continuum, which curves in the presence of mass.

The last three decades of his life were devoted to the search for a field theory which would unify gravitation and electro-magnetism.

Einstein always said that he was a deeply religious man, and his religion informed his science. He rejected the conventional image of God as a personal being, concerned about our individual lives, judging us when we die, intervening in the laws he himself had created to cause miracles, answer prayers and so on. Einstein did not believe in a soul separate from the body, nor in an afterlife of any kind.

But he was certainly a pantheist. He did regard the ordered cosmos with the same kind of feeling that believers have for their God. To some extent this was a simple awe at the impenetrable mystery of sheer being. Einstein also had an urge to lose individuality and to exp erience the universe as a whole.

But he was also struck by the radiant beauty, the harmony, the structure of the universe as it was accessible to reason and science. In describing these factors he sometimes uses the word God, and sometimes refers to a divine reason, spirit or intelligence. He never suggests that this reason or spirit transcends the world - so in that sense he is a clear pantheist and not a panentheist. However, this reason is to some extent anthropomorphic, and to some extent involves Einstein in a contradiction.

His religious thinking was not systematic, so he never ironed out this discrepancy. But it seems likely that he believed in a God who was identical to the universe - similar to the God of Spinoza. A God whose rational nature was expressed in the universe, or a God who was identified with the universe and its laws taken together. His own scientific search for the laws of this universe was a deeply religious quest.

Einstein's attachm ent to what he once called `the grandeur of reason incarnate' led him into the longest battle and the greatest failure of his life. He was implacably opposed to Niels Bohr's interpretation of quantum physics. Bohr believed that matter was fundamentally indeterminate, and our knowledge of it limited to probabilities.

Einstein's comment, God does not play dice, became notorious. The phrase uses the present tense, not the past. This suggests that Einstein was probably not referring to the fact that a creator God would not in the beginning have created a universe in which chance reigned supreme. Rather he may have meant that as God or reason incarnate, the universe could not be governed by chance alone. (1)

EIRUGENA: - John Scotius Eirugena (means Irish born) was a great philosopher in the late first millennium AD. Bertrand Russell seems not to know much about Irish culture when he expresses surprise to have to admit he is the greatest of minds in a very Dark Age. In fact he was just rephrasing Pelagius who was maintaining some of the remnants of Druidic thought as I see it. It annoys me to spend a day looking for a biography on a great man like this and find some fools have hundreds of links whereas he had nary a one.

Can a Dream Tell Us of the Future?

Much has been written regarding Dreams and their Meanings or purpose. Mankind has been fascinated with our Dreams since the first Dreamer awoke and wondered about What their visions Meant. Since ancient times we Have looked to our Dreams to find signs of What our Future holds. The first written Dreams we know of were in 4000 BC.

Most people will spend about one third of their lives asleep. Our Dreams are a real part of us but too often they are disregarded. Dreams can give us insight and understanding of our personal lives. They will help us to understand our past, present, and sometimes our Future. All we need to do is to pay attention to our Dreams and get to know them.

Dreams can hold a message for the Future.

We Have different types of Dreams. Often our Dreams consist of imagery from our most pressing thoughts and/or personal experiences. Sometimes, however, our Dreams can be special. Our Dreams can communicate with us if we allow them too. All we nee d to is listen.

I believe that there are two main types of Prophetic Dreams.

Those that come to us from our deeper self, who is much more aware of certain things than we are on a conscious level, and those who may potentially Have come from an outside source.

Here is an example from my own Dream experiences:

I Dreamed of death. All I could remember from the Dream was seeing a hand laying in gravels. The most noticeable thing was the ring on the hand. It was my ring. I recognized it without any doubt. Even though this was the only image I could recall from the nightmare I knew that the Dream was about a death. I could feel it strongly when I woke up. I had all but forgotten the events of the Dream but the emotions were still vivid.

The ring was an Army Boot Camp ring made very similar to a class ring. After I had the Dream I never wore it again. Eventually I sold it to a friend of mine who had attended the same boot camp. A few years later I rece ived a call. My friend had been murdered. He was found laying in rocks and dirt with that ring on his hand.

Did my Dream forewarn me of this event? I think it is a possibility. What was the Dream trying to communicate to me? I had assumed that the Dream was about my death. I had also assumed that the ring was somehow a participant in my death. I stopped wearing the ring as though that would prevent the warned death. Perhaps the Dream was simply telling me that my friend would die with that ring on his hand.

Whenever we Have a Dream that we consider to be Prophetic or to Have a Meaning we are faced with the difficult task of interpreting just What the Dream Means. Dream Symbols most often Have very definite Meanings but these Meanings can vary widely from one person to the next. That is Why we cannot rely too much on definitions given in Dream Symbol Dictionaries.

In order to understand the Meaning of the symbols within our own Dreams we must come to a bette r and deeper understanding of ourselves. We Have to learn What these symbols Mean to us because that is how are Dreaming mind sees them.

Anything within your Dream can be a symbol. An example of a symbol in a Dream is a snake. A snake can Have many different Meanings to different people. As with all other Dream symbols they can also Have a different Meaning for the same person at different times in their life. You also Have to look at the symbol in the context that it appeared. What other symbols were present in the Dream?

The best way to gain a better understanding of What your Dream symbols Mean to you is to develop your own Dream symbol dictionary. Keep as detailed of a Dream journal as you can. Don't just write down a narrative of What occurred but record your feelings and emotions too. As you continue to write in your journal and re-read your previous entries you will begin to see parallels with your Dreams and your life. Gradually you will be able to recogn ize What the symbols in your Dreams are really saying to you.

How Small Is Small?

It may not be quite obvious but the word Small is indeterminate. It is relative not only because it has to refer to some physical attribute but also it has a large range to it. There are Small stars and there are Small insects. It is even difficult to define the range, especially its lower end.

It had been clear even to the ancients that if you keep dividing something into Smaller and Smaller parts, ultimately it ceases to be a physical thing. It becomes an idea or a concept. The philosophers believed that all the multiplicity of things in the universe could be traced back to a single entity. Leucippus and Democritus thought that this entity was the Atom, which was eternal, indivisible, and indestructible. Much earlier a school of ancient Indian philosophy (vaisheshik) had stated the same idea that the Atom (Sanskrit word kana) was the elementary unit from which everything in the universe was made. Vedanta went a step further and did not even bother about the Smalles t entity. It proclaimed that the ultimate reality behind all existence was Smaller than the Smallest, thus making it formless and nonmaterial.

Not too long ago the Atom was considered indivisible even in science. We now know that the Atom is divisible. It consists of electrons, protons, and neutrons. Even protons and neutrons are composed of other particles known as quarks. In fact there are no elementary particles now; they all result from different configurations of vibrations (energy). Even though these particles (energy packets) combine in different ways to form matter in diverse forms, they are not objects in the usual sense of the word. They are merely concepts. Yet all physical phenomena can be correctly explained through these. The behavior of concepts cannot be described by everyday language and that is why the language of mathematics is needed for their exact description.

When we talk of division the first thing that comes to mind is a set of numbers. T he simplest division is division into two parts and the process can be repeated indefinitely. Take any number and performing this continued division you keep getting Smaller and Smaller numbers; thus you can get as close to Zero as you want but can never actually get there. At some point therefore it becomes meaningless to continue the process.

This is exactly what happened in particle physics. When it got to electrons, photons, and quarks there was no further splitting. Since everything is ultimately described in terms of wave functions, waves (or energy) must be the end point. The string theory in different versions simply leads to the conclusion that energy is the prime entity which gives rise to everything in the universe. Energy is all pervading and cannot be divided. In that sense it is also infinit e. It is both the beginning and the end.

The equivalence of matter and energy is an established fact. The transformation of matter into energy is well understood. The challenge to science now is to find how energy is transformed into matter. Ancient philosophies (Vedanta, Sankhya) have suggested ways in which this transformation occurs. These are, of course, qualitative suggestions and as yet there is no way to test them. But in physics also this is only a concept and the process of production of particles from string vibrations is yet to be demonstrated.

Rule Makers and the Weak Minded Followers Who Cheer Them On

Have you ever joined a club or group only to watch the entire group start making more and more rules until it stagnates and becomes in effective? Boy I sure have and you need not look any further than the Free Enterprise System in the United States of America, as each rule puts more people out of work.

Now then what about the groups you belong too? Are you an online article writer? Ever thought of becoming one? Well, in online article writing there are online article submission sites, which attempt to keep the quality up. One recently announced that it had a policy of not allowing miss spelled words in the titles of Articles submitted. Sound good right; well, not so fast, as what if there are words like; Illegals, Franchisors or Behaviour [English Spelling and the spell check shows them to be mi ss spelled? Whoops, now you see the problem? Nevertheless on online article website is going ahead with this new rule and everyone seems to be agreeing with this without thinking this rule through; personally; I think you people are all insane and your BS about quality is an excuse for the beehive world you wish to create.

This is the same problem in Washington DC with regulators making rules based on how they think the world should do business rather than realizing how the world really works. Your miss spellings and stupid rules are pathetic, linear thinking and very ignorant really. I think you are all jumping on the bandwagon wanting to agree with owner of the website and think these authors better be careful that they do not get what you wish for. Be smart stop making rules in the middle of the chess game. What are all you folks suddenly a bunch of lawyers now? Consider all this in 2006.

The importance of Wind and Water applies not only to the location of large centers of human habitation. Your home and your office are habitations also and you find yourself naturally concerned about the envoiroments in which you spend so much of your lifetime. When you choose a house or a apartment you worry about the price you will pay, the cost of living in the area, and the convenience of the location. But you also want to know about the neighbourhood. You are also concerned about the atmosphere of the locality: you want to know how quiet it is, whether it is safe, whether the air is oppressive. You want to know what effect living there will have on you.

In order to answer this question, the Feng Shui practitioner takes many aspects into account. It is not just a question of whether you like the house or apartment. The various Feng Shui principles are used. What is the balance of Yin and Yang? How does the alignment of the home fit with the sequence of trigrams in the I Ching? Is it an appropriate location in view of the magnetic and other forces and the relevant cycles of time?
